Setting dates and alarms

Since version 2.0 of WinOrganizer, it is made possible to set up dates and alarms not only for events and tasks, but any other record available. You can now set up a date for notes, contacts and even - passwords. To do this, use the button located on the toolbar of the record editing dialog box. Clicking this button calls up the Advanced alarm settings dialog box.

At the time of an event, the alarm dialog box will appear on the screen and the corresponding melody will be played back via PC speaker or external speakers. If you don't close this dialog box within a minute, the alarm sound will be repeated every minute (unless this option is cancelled in the Advanced alarm settings dialog box).

In addition, you should remember that the program will track dates and trigger alarms only if the file with these alarms is entered into the database using the Database manager dialog box.

Event alarm dialog box

If you set an alarm for some document, then a dialog box providing information about this document will appear on the screen at the alarm trigger time:

Example of the Alarm dialog box:

An icon in the top left corner corresponds to the type of the record (event, task, note, contact, or password) that has an alarm set.

Title Displays the title of the event
File Displays the location of the .gso file
Document Displays the name of a document which this event belongs to. To go to the record that contains this event, click .
Due Date Displays the date and time of the event
Days Left Shows how many days will pass before this event happens.
Alarm Date Displays the alarm date set for this event.
Age Shows how many years have passed since the first coming of this event.
Remind once again in Check it to postpone the alarm for several minutes/hours/days/weeks (to remind once again). In addition, the Close button (in the bottom right corner of the dialog box) changes its name to Snooze.
Mute Turns off the alarm sound.

To edit an event, just click the Edit button.
To delete the event, click Delete
Close - closes the alarm dialog box. (Snooze - postpones the alarm for the given period of time).

If the alarm is set for a task, the Check button will appear to the left of the Edit button. Use this button to mark this event as a performed one.

The Comments tab page contains comments for an event that has this alarm set. It is possible to edit contents of these comments.
